Soothing

Soothing is intended as an exploration purely into the sonic and textual capabilities of the electric fan when recontextualised into music. This idea is based upon the initial inspiration for Attempted Soothing and Tranquil Agitation, however focuses on the application of the fan to expressional qualities of performance,  for example through intimacy, gesture and texture. The piece uses an electronic manipulation of fan recordings in order to enhance the sonic capabilities of the objects, highlighting the fans' own harmony and sound world.
